NuWyre — United States
NuWyre provides AI-powered phone answering services for local businesses. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We've written it to be readable — not to bury you in legalese.
NuWyre ("we," "us," or "our") is a software company that provides AI-powered phone answering services. Our platform allows local businesses ("Customers") to have their incoming calls handled by an AI receptionist that answers questions, books appointments, flags emergencies, and sends SMS summaries to the business owner.
This Privacy Policy applies to:
Customers — businesses that subscribe to NuWyre
Callers — individuals who call a NuWyre-enabled business phone number
Visitors — anyone who visits nuwyre.com

How We Use Your Data
Customer data is used to:
Provide and operate the NuWyre service
Configure your AI receptionist based on your settings
Process billing and manage your subscription
Send you SMS summaries of calls handled on your behalf
Provide customer support
Send product updates and service-related communications
Improve the NuWyre platform
Caller data is used to:
Generate call transcripts and SMS summaries for the business owner
Allow the business owner to review and respond to calls
Classify calls by urgency so business owners can prioritize callbacks
Enable support troubleshooting when a business owner opens a support ticket and grants access
We do not sell caller data to third parties. We do not use caller data to serve advertising. Caller data is used solely to provide the service to the business that received the call.
4
Call Data and Caller Privacy
When a caller contacts a business that uses NuWyre, their call is handled by our AI system. The caller is interacting with a service provided on behalf of that business. The business is responsible for ensuring their use of NuWyre complies with applicable laws regarding call handling and data collection in their jurisdiction.
NuWyre stores call transcripts and metadata on behalf of business customers. This data is:
Stored securely in our database (Supabase, hosted in the United States)
Accessible only to the business that received the call and, in limited circumstances, to NuWyre staff for support purposes
Retained for up to 90 days by default, after which it is permanently deleted
Never shared with other businesses, advertisers, or data brokers
If you are a caller who has questions about data collected during a call to a NuWyre-enabled business, please contact that business directly. If you cannot reach them, you may contact us at privacy@nuwyre.com and we will assist you.
5
Call Recording Disclosure
NuWyre generates transcripts of calls handled by our AI receptionist. This constitutes a form of call recording for the purposes of applicable telecommunications and privacy laws.
Several US states — including California, Illinois, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Washington — require all parties to a phone call to consent to recording before it begins. These are known as "two-party consent" or "all-party consent" states.
To assist business owners in meeting their legal obligations, NuWyre provides an optional call recording disclosure feature. When enabled, the AI receptionist states the following at the beginning of every call:
"This call may be recorded for quality and service purposes."
This disclosure is enabled by default for all new NuWyre accounts. Business owners may disable it from their AI Agent Settings, but doing so may expose them to legal liability in certain jurisdictions. NuWyre strongly recommends keeping this disclosure enabled.
NuWyre is not responsible for a business owner's failure to comply with applicable call recording laws in their jurisdiction.
6
Founder Access to Call Data
NuWyre staff — specifically the founder and designated administrators — may access call transcripts and data in the following limited circumstances:
Support tickets: When a business owner opens a support ticket and explicitly grants transcript access via the toggle in their support conversation, NuWyre staff may review relevant call transcripts to diagnose and resolve the reported issue
System integrity: To investigate suspected abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Service
Legal compliance: When required by law, court order, or valid government request
NuWyre does not routinely review individual call transcripts. When access is granted for support purposes, the business owner is notified within their support conversation and access is limited to calls relevant to the reported issue.
7
Data Sharing and Third Parties
We work with a small number of trusted service providers to operate NuWyre. These providers process data only as directed by us and are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.
Our current service providers include:

Stripe — Payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data
Twilio — Phone number management, call routing, and SMS delivery (United States)
Anthropic — AI language model processing for call handling and response generation
Vercel — Website and application hosting (United States)
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data or caller data to any third party for marketing, advertising, or any other commercial purpose.
We may disclose data when required to:
Comply with applicable law, regulation, or legal process
Respond to lawful requests from public authorities
Protect the rights, property, or safety of NuWyre, our customers, or the public

Authentication: User accounts are protected by Supabase's authentication system, which supports secure password hashing and optional multi-factor authentication
Minimal access principle: NuWyre staff access to customer data is restricted to what is necessary to provide support
No system is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at security@nuwyre.com.
